SC First Steps 4K Program

Exciting News for Parents: Enrollment Open for SC First Steps 4K Program for the 2025-2026 School Year!

We are delighted to announce that our center is now accepting applications for the South Carolina First Steps 4K program for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. This esteemed program offers free, full-day four-year-old kindergarten to qualifying children, providing a robust foundation for lifelong learning.

Apply - SC First Steps 

✅ Free Full-Day Kindergarten – High-quality education tailored for four-year-olds.
✅ Extended Care Scholarships – Through a partnership with the SC Department of Social Services, enrolled First Steps 4K students and their siblings (ages 0-12) may be eligible for child care and after-school scholarships, covering up to 52 weeks of care.

📌 Age: Children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2025 (i.e., birthdates between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021).
📌 Residency: Must be a resident of South Carolina.
📌 Income Requirements: Families should meet at least one of the following:

• Eligible for Medicaid, free/reduced-price lunch, or SNAP/TANF benefits.
• Experiencing homelessness or transiency.
• In foster care.
   

To apply, please prepare the following documents:
📄 Child’s Certified Birth Certificate
📄 Proof of South Carolina Residency – Such as a current SC Driver’s License, state-issued ID, utility bill, or signed rental/mortgage agreement.
📄 Income Verification – This can include the child’s Medicaid card, a letter of eligibility, family SNAP card, or household income documents.

📅 Application Period: Open now for the 2025-2026 school year.
📅 Start Date: Classes commence in August 2025.
